Diamond, Olamide, others win at AFRIMA 2015


The 2015 edition of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, was held on Sunday, November 15, at EKO Hotel & Suites Lagos. The event saw this year's winners being awarded with a 23.9 karat gold-plated drum and microphone- shaped trophy.

AFRIMA, in partnership with the African Union Commission, also honoured hope to recognize, award, promote and preserve Africa's rich music culture.

FUNAAB MOURNS MAMA HID AWOLOWO


The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has joined individuals, groups and corporate organisations to mourn the demise of Chief Hannah Dideolu Awolowo, the Matriarch of the Awolowo family, at the ripe age of 99.

HID Awolowo is dead

The matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, is dead. She died on Saturday, September 19 shortly after a meeting with her family members, at the age of 99. Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo popularly known as HID, was born to a modest family in Ikenne community of Ogun State in Nigeria. She is the widow of politician Obafemi Awolowo, who famously referred to her as his "jewel of inestimable value".

TEEN SAXOPHONIST SUPPORTS CHILDREN LIVING WITH CANCER.


 Nigeria’s Soulful and Skillful Teen Saxophonist TJ Emore popularly known as TJ Sax shows that age does not matter when it comes to giving back to his society as he lends his support to the Children Living with Cancer Foundation at the “Heart of Hope Walkathon” event on 19th September 2015 by 7:30am from Dowen college, Lekki phase 1 through Lekki phase 1 GTB gate Oniru, back to Lekki phase 1.

The event is aimed at making a difference in the lives of children with cancer and to solicit support. Attendees would be given free T-shirts at the venue as it promises to be informative, entertaining and educating.
